There are many variations of Mulled Wine, also known as Spiced Wine. We find this traditional, easy stove top recipe a great place to start. Mulled Wine is a wonderful Christmas Cocktail to keep you warm and… toasty!

Ingredients (For 2 servings):
1. Half bottle of Red Wine (We chose Merlot)
2. 1/4 cups of sugar
3. Orange and Lemon Slices
5. 4 or 5 cloves
6. Stick of Cinnamon
7. Cognac (Spiced Rum is a great substitute)
Pour wine and sugar into a pot on the stove. Set to low. Incorporate fruit and spices. Keep the liquid under 170 degrees F, if possible, to avoid the alcohol from evaporating. Steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain solids from the liquid. Garnish with extra slices of orange and lemon and cranberries (optional). The best temperature for serving is roughly 150 degrees F.
