Fastest Wine Chilling Method – Dos and Don’ts of Chilling Wine

There are a number of effective methods of chilling wine. If you need to chill wine in a hurry, we got just the method for you!

Our quick method to chill wine is to wrap it in a wet paper towel and throw it into the freezer for 15-30 minutes. It’ll be nice and cold in it’s frozen cocoon. Additionally, you can throw your wine in the freezer without it for about 45 minutes to an hour. If you plan ahead, store your wine in the fridge for up to a few days before you plan to drink (store it as long as you want for unopened screw cap bottles, cans, or boxed wine).

One thing we do not recommend is ice cubes. Putting ice cubes in wine will dilute water into the wine, altering the taste. Of course, if this is something you like, do what you want! Some other alternatives to ice cubes are frozen grapes, frozen stainless steel balls, or whiskey stones.
